Is anyone else’s baby struggling to focus while nursing?

My LO gets so districted by the smallest things (even her hands) therefore won’t nurse long. Then I have to give her a bottle to get full. She likes the bottle bc she can look around while eating.

I used to be able to eat and do whatever while she nursed and now if I DARE take a sip of water, she stops eating and stares at me for like thirty seconds haha. GOD FORBID someone else walks into the room, we don’t stand a chance baha

I don’t know if this will help anyone, but my baby girl has been having this issue and I changed up some stuff this week and it’s so much better! I EP so my girl is bottle-fed. We were doing (5) 6oz bottles/day from 8am-8pm starting around 3 months. She used to eat like a champ and was always so focused! Then all of a sudden like a week or two ago, it’s almost like she has no interest in the bottle and stopped drinking as much. So a friend recommended I check out bottle feeding charts on Pinterest. I know that stuff can sometimes be unreliable, but some suggested I was feeding her too much, so I decided to experiment and move to (4) 6-7oz bottles/day. That puts her feeds 4 hours apart instead of 3 and it’s like I have a whole new baby! She’s so focused on eating again! I think that extra hour between feeds really lets her get hungry and ready to eat. I know every baby is different, but this is really working out for us! I should add that we have also just start rice cereal once a day.

Saw a mom hack where the mom clipped a little toy to her bra strap so it stayed right in front of baby’s face so she played with that while nursing. I haven’t tried it but I’m already over her yanking my nipple around 🥴

I have started wearing a nursing necklace and nursing in a dark room away from everyone else. That has helped tremendously!!!

Not nursing but taking a bottle (formula feeding) and my babe is looking all over the place and is super distracted

Bottle feed and having the same exact issue! It’s driving me crazy. He’s now not eating as much during the day. So, he in return wakes up an extra time at night.... for example, he hadn’t eaten in 3 1/2 hours, started getting fussy so I made him a 5oz bottle and he only drank a little under 4oz.... 😭😭😭
