Toddler talking question!
Hello! 🥰
My daughter will be 2 in August. I've read online that by 2 they should he saying at least 50 words.
Does this mean only saying those 50 words perfectly? Or saying them to the best of their ability and knowing the meaning?
Do words/phrases they say that are COMPLETELY wrong but you and toddler both know what they're saying count?
In terms of being totally off. My daughter used to call babies "mama's" up until 3 or 4 months ago. When she gives me something or does something for me I always say "Thank you baby" and so that translated into "Goo Mama" in her language. She still says it like this.
In terms of kind of saying things wrong she says things like:
Shawshaw = Sausage
Blee = Bluey
Oosh = Shoes
Meel = Milk
Bush = Books
Eye = Elsa, Ana, Olaf, and Frozen (all share the same word)
I've never counted but I would say she's got over 50 words combined that she either says perfectly, to the best of her ability, or in her own little toddler language.
Gu Mama 😁
