Im scared my toddler might have autism

My son can understand simple instructions like turn on the light or go get the ball or put ur socks on or go find ur shoes, but he wont talk he likes to babbles a lot but no any distinct words or phrases yet, he would say bo for ball or ca for car but even that he rarely says and what makes me worry the most is that he wont respond to his name, i just want to know if someone's toddler is going through the same and did u get u request for assesment, i ask my mom and she just keeps telling me its normal.is it?
