Is it worth spending the extra $$ on travel systems and bassinets?

It’s definitely worth having a good travel system but I personally can’t justify spending $500 on one. Our modes system is awesome, doesn’t specifically have the bassinet but it lays flat, we took our first walk the day after coming home from the hospital

I think so. We love our uppababy! We also love our baby jogger stroller, but didn’t happen to use the bassinet. Higher end strollers hold great resale value in my area, so I don’t mind spending more. They also tend to be a far more pleasant experience to use overall. Better push, easier fold, nicer features and fabrics.

Yes. We got a $300 Greco travel system for our eldest and it was a piece of crap. It was missing pieces right out of the box (screws) and both the front wheels fell off at different times. Garbage. Didn’t even last 2 years. We bought a City Select second hand after that and it’s been perfect, no complaints for the last 2 years. Wish we’d spent the extra money on the City Select right away instead of wasting any on the Graco.

This thing has been AMAZING for us since day 1. It is only $200 and goes on sale for $150 occasionally. I was worried about how cheap it was at first but the stroller rides SO smooth and the car seat is so simple to click in and out of the base and the stroller. The base is also adjustable and the car seat folds up super easily! 
It’s definitely worth it because 1) it’s so cheap so when it comes time to front face, buying a new car seat won’t be a big deal and you still have the stroller!  
And 2) you have no idea what a life saver it is to be able to just put babies car seat into the stroller to get around. Especially in the newborn days when they sleep a lot, and you don’t have to wake them. The only thing I would recommend is buying a newborn insert, which I found a great one at Walmart for $15.

No you don’t need to spend a ton of money on a bassinet because they only use them for a few months, at the most, but I do think it’s worth it to spend more money on a travel system (stroller/car seat combo). We used our Nuna Mixx2 stroller daily with our son for 2 years, and now we use the same stroller for our daughter and it’s still in perfect shape. More expensive strollers come with better wheels, better shock absorption, and nicer fabrics. Our Mixx2 also has a very nice telescoping handle which is ideal for my husband and me because we’re both tall. The stroller was honestly a no-brainer for us because it came with our Nuna Pipa car seat, which is my favorite one on the market. I don’t believe in skimping on a car seat which will potentially save my child’s life. In my opinion, a car seat is the #1 most important thing to research and spend money on.

No need to spend a lot of $$$. My all time favorite is baby trend, but Graco has bassinet option, and so does evenflo.

Sorry for the many links! But I personally would never spend more then maybe $400 on a system. I paid 250 for the baby trend one 🤷🏻‍♀️😬 unisex, used it 5 years now
