Baby girl made her appearance with a bang!
Due date was July 4th, baby Bellatrix Ann was born today (July 2nd) at 3:51pm. Her appearance was very quick. I had been having irregular contractions this morning (anywhere from 20 mins apart to 3 mins apart) so my man kept telling me we should go in and get checked. I disagreed and told him I didn’t want to be sent home. We live 50 mins away from the hospital, so laboring in the car was NOT what I wanted to do. Around 2pm I asked my moms husband to come get our two other kids so I could labor at home without worrying about them as well. By 2:15 my contractions were 2-3 mins apart and getting stronger really quickly, and my two kiddos were being picked up. We decided it was time to leave, and time to leave now. We left and called the hospital, told
them we were 50 mins out and my labors go quick so be ready for us. I spent the whole car ride there contracting every 1-2 mins. We get to the hospital parking lot, had to wait for a contraction to finish. Get to the elevator that takes us across the campus, had one there. Got into the lobby and was having another immediately. Got upstairs to triage while my man was checking in, and they checked me, immediately ripped their gloves off and started moving me to a room. As soon as I realized I was being moved I said “wait how dilated am I? I’m not getting an epidural am I” and I was told no, if you need to push then push. I felt the need as I was being moved into a room (yup I started pushing in the hallway, I did NOT care I just wanted the pain to be over)
, and as soon as I was in the room and knew my man was
there I just kept pushing. My water broke with my 2nd push, and by the 4th baby girl was here. I was so tired I couldn’t sit up to look at her but she was crying immediately on me, so I felt such relief. Sad that I was forced to go without pain medication with all 3 kids, but I’m so glad baby girl was healthy, and I was healthy. My man also was such a champ, telling me to breathe in the car while speeding through holiday traffic, and handling the phone with the hospital when they called to check on us. He kept telling me I could do it, and this was my first labor where I didn’t have my mon with me (sadly she’s sick so due to restrictions anyone who has symptoms is not allowed in). Welcome to the world Bellatrix Ann, thank you for completing our family 💕 also thank you for being my only baby born with HAIR
