$1,000 for an unvaccinated mini horse? Risky?

We found a beautiful Appaloosa mini horse. He’s a gelding & broke to ride for children, can run barrels, and is very sweet. He was $1500 but they lowered the price to $1000.

He was a rescue that they’ve rehabilitated over the past 2 years. He’s 10 years old. We’ve been looking for another mini horse since we lost ours.

I’m in love with this mini, but he’s unvaccinated and he’s never had his coggins pulled. The people who rescued him said they don’t know anything about his history so he could’ve been vaccinated in the past.

We’re looking to have a family mini horse that our daughter can grow up with. I’d be so upset if something happened all because he isn’t vaccinated. We recently lost our little Reno who I loved and I’m still so upset about.

Is it risky to get this horse?

I feel like they’re asking for a lot but then again he is a great mini. We would get him seen by our vet right away if we do get him.
