Happy birthday Seraphina
First let me say that this is my 5th baby, 3rd planned induction so I'm a bit seasoned on birth. I prefer my inductions.
She was born 7-1-21
I checked in at 5am and got settled into my own labor gown, and socks. Nurses came in, hooked me up and brought me ice and dad a blanket and pillow. They asked if I had any special birth request which I didn't bc I already know they do golden mom and baby skin to skin hour.
I and the best nurse, she was young but oh so good and gentle at her job. At 6 am they started the induction and slow 2ml an hour, by 8am it was at 15ml an hour and I was starting to feel cramping, I started out at 3cm and only moved to 4cm and was contracting every 3-5mins, very little pain. Doc came in and asked if we wanted to wait for my water or if I wanted to go ahead a break them (I've never had to break them before) but it really didn't bother me either way. I knew as soon as he did it she would be here so I said sure let's do it but requested the epidural first. I had the best doctor for that as well. She was super sweet, soft and made sure it was working well and right and even gave me a button to make sure I bad enough (my last pregnancy it failed) she chatted with me and I didn't feel like I was just another person on her list. Once they got me settled he broke my water it was about 9:30 and by 10 even though I was dumb numb I was feeling the cramps but they were manageable. I told my doc, she's coming, sure enough I was at 10 and ready. That fast. They set everything up, and around 10:20 we began pushing!
With a little help from everyone, nurses, doc and my husband, baby was born just 4 pushed later at 10:44am
No tears, no complications, just a relaxed go with the flow delivery!
She spent a good hour with us before the nurse came in but they don't take the baby away they do everything right there in the room and baby did wonderful. She wasn't bothered by her bath or her blood work.
It took a hour or 2 for my legs to come back and my bleeding was very light and they made sure my pain was managed though honestly I didn't have much.
All my births have been pretty laid back but I feel truly blessed on this last one, bc it is my last one. I could not have asked for a better labor, or better nurses. I felt relaxed and gushed over byeveryone. Husband and nurses all made it 1000% better. Beautiful. My doctor also offered me to have an extra day in bc he knew I had 4 other kids and thought I might want the extra day for just us which we took his offer on that lol.
All my kids and family where able to come a visit as well!
Just truly blessed.
