Sudden super sensitive stomach (extreme bloating)
Hey there! I’ve recently had a strange bout of a super sensitive stomach (as in I get extremely painfully bloated after eating - usually midday. My morning meal is fine). I thought it could be food poisoning because it came on suddenly last week after a questionable meal I had. The first 2.5 days I had diarrhea, took some peptol bismol which helped the first day, but not the second (it seems to have triggered the sensitive stomach). I have had general constipation since the peptol bismol (however I have small bowel movements and still pass gas) My symptoms have been the bloating, which when severe makes my mid back hurt and gives me nausea. I have not thrown up. I am usually waking up with a headache (mild and towards the back of my head). I’m generally fatigued from feeling ill. No sharp pain, or pain anywhere else except in the upper abdomen in when bloated. Also no foods seem to be a trigger. No issues with fats/oils/carbs/sugar (from keifer or sourdough). Saltines are a life saver. My diet for the last week has been scrambled eggs, ketchup, sourdough toast with butter or cream cheese, kefir, ginger lemon mint water.
A bit of back history: I had what was basically a c-section about 6 months ago due to a mature teratoma that had engulfed my right ovary. They removed my right ovary and Fallopian tube at the time (the teratoma mass was approx 13cmx14cmx16cm.. size of a American football according to the doctor). Ive never had digestive issues before or been diagnosed with anything. No allergies, not diabetic (though I am obese). I eat healthy (salads, organic foods, scratch made etc). I have been doing keto for 2+ years and had lost 85lbs before covid (starting from almost square one again 🙄 thanks covid). I have an active job (cooking), I quit smoking tobacco over a year ago. I don’t drink soda/ juice/ milk, though I have been fond of the soda stream 0 calorie flavors. I took a pregnancy test this morning and tested negative (should’ve started yesterday).
My question is has anyone else had this happen? Everything I’m finding is non specific and is generalized. I did find a small amount about women developing IBS after a c-section but nothing in detail and no confirmation (all 1 or 2 comment threads). I am trying to find a primary care physician but they are all two weeks or more out for scheduling and unfortunately the doctor who performed my surgery did not renew their contract with the hospital (aka they’re no longer there).
If you’re still reading this; thank you for listening to me and I hope you have a wonderful day. Any comments or advice is welcomed 🙂
