Do I ask for the birth control?
❗️⚠️PLEASD READ⚠️❗️
I have an upcoming doctors appointment for the obgyn. I was told before to get on birth control due to my period. Everytime I get my period I throw up and get the worst cramps. It only happens the first day or two then I’m fine. This started when I was 15 and I’m now 20. First period when I was 11. I started having sex for the past year and I am not on birth control and we don’t use condoms. I haven’t been checked either. I don’t think he’s given me anything but I wanna be safe and have a contraceptive.
The problem is my mom wouldn’t allow me to get on birth control before when the doctor recommended me it a few years ago and I’ve still been throwing up since and only use ibuprofen which helps but only for a few hours. My mom thinks the birth control will damage my body and cause me to gain lots of weight which I wouldn’t mind. I look pretty skinny and weigh about 100 pounds. She is against the birth control. She knows I have the appointment and told me if they tell me to use birth control that she won’t be allowing me to take it still although I am 20.
I have a very controlling mom who’s very protective of me. That causes me to be very shy do idk how I should ask for birth control. I still live with my parents and have their insurance covering me. I want to know what’s the best birth control for my period that causes me to throw up and as a contraceptive. I don’t want my parents finding out I am sexually active now and my moms against the pill so avoiding it would be best. I’m wondering if the insurance is covering it will it show the birth control method I’ll be taking? Which birth control is the best for me? How should I ask? How should I tell them I’m sexually active now? Should I just say “I’m sexually active now I wanna get birth control for it and my period?” (Nervous about asking for it)
Any help is appreciated ❤️
