What would you do?
So here is what is going on. My Father in law wants to become a foster parent to two teenage girls. In my father in laws 3 bedroom home are himself, my mother in law, my sister in law #1, and his granddaughter and grandson. Both grandbabies are sister in law#2s kids. Sister in law #2 is basically a deadbeat, father is not in the picture, so grandma grandpa and sister in law #1 take care of them.
Sister in law #2 is pregnant AGAIN. Meaning 3 babies will be in that house.
Father in law works 2 full time jobs to support them AND a church with no members (which is a whole other thing) He is never home. The responsibility of the foster children would fall on Sister in law #1 and my mother in law. Neither my sister in law or mother in law WANT THIS.
My father in law has asked my husband and I to provide him our SS# and dr for a background check so he can go through with the fostering. We have zero idea as to why he would force everyone to do this outside of money. No one in the house is willing to speak up and just bowed down to him and applied.
My husband and I have refused. Apparently anyone that will be around often has to submit a background check, but we refuse. We can’t imaging forcing Sister in law #1 and my mother in law into this situation.
I’m just curious, what would you do? My father in law can be quite controlling, and we feel we are the only ones to stop this. My sister in law #1 has already been saying she hopes my husband will talk him out of it.
