If you pay rent do you expect more freedom?

I rent a room from family members and I feel like I should have more freedom. I’m not allowed to use the A/C or Heater unless they’re the ones that want to use it. It was 110 today and it’s soooo hot and I went outside for a second and they came in and turned my fan off (I like it on Because there is no air circulation in my room and it gets HOT) if I have the ceiling fan on they take the remote from their room ( it connects to my fan also) to turn it off. During Winter the house gets freezing but they refuse to allow me to use the heater so I purchased a small $20 space heater just for when I get ready in the morning since it’s like 50degrees inside. They were so mad and forbid me from using it because it “uses to much electricity”. We have solar and no money problems 🙄 I am not allowed to have company. My friend came over one time and the next day I got a text that said “I hope your friend doesn’t think she’s going to be coming over”. When I go out there’s so much tension if I’m out past like 9 pm. I feel like since I pay rent I should have more freedom. Like at least be able to turn on the A/C or have a friend over sometimes. I’m not a wild person or anything. If the only advice you’re going to say is to move out, just save your time and keep scrolling. Just want to know if I have a right to more freedom. I am 26. If you agree that I do, how do I go about talking to them? What should I say?
