Baby 6lbs at 34 weeks and 4 days. What will baby weigh at birth?

So I was told my baby weighed 6lbs at 34 weeks and 4 days. They told me this was huge and are recommending I be induced at 38.5 weeks (on Wednesday) because I tore badly and my bladder shifted and prolapsed with my 8lb 3oz baby. I have no idea what to do now. Anyone know how much babies gain in the final weeks of pregnancy? Would this baby be on track to be 10+ pounds?
I also realize that ultrasounds can be inaccurate. They told me my son would be 7lbs and was 8lb 3oz at birth. Not sure what to think or what to do. They told me that they would have to use Prostin gel to soften the cervix because it is not open and no where near ready for labor. I just don’t feel comfortable with the whole thing but I also want to trust my doctor. I have had her for 7 years and she has always been great. Ahh what do I do? 😭

You’re gonna get everyone telling you not to induce. I’m personally fine with inductions. I had a medical induction just shy of 38w. elective induction. and if i have a third baby who goes to due date, i will choose induction again. Personally. 
For me it was accurate. I had a growth scan at 36 weeks and they estimated him full term around 8lb 6oz and he was born 40w1d at 8lb 2oz 🤷🏼‍♀️ never had growth scan with my first baby to compare.

They estimated my daughter was 6 pounds 6oz at 34 weeks and said she would he 10.4. She came out being 9.10oz and that was at 40 weeks 4 days.

I would go with what the doctor is recommending. 
With my son they said he’d be 9+lbs, he’s going to be huge etc - he was 8lbs4oz
With my daughter we had a growth ultrasound at 36w6, she was estimated at 6lbs11oz, was delivered via repeat csection at 39 weeks and she was 7lbs on the button.
I find the weight estimates are all over the place. However, your doctor knows your medical history and is the best person to recommend what you should do.

“Big baby” is not a true medical reason to induce. I would decline any further growth scans and induction based solely on estimated weight as scans can be off by as much as 2-3lbs in either direction. Your body will not make a baby bigger than you can realistically birth. Successful vaginal births with minimal or no tearing have occurred with babies as big as 10-13lbs and more. 
Fun fact - having a growth scan makes you 44% more likely to have c-section due to doctors recommending early induction. That risk nearly doubles if baby is estimated to weigh over a certain amount. Compared to women who don’t get growth scans, c-sections are within the typical rate of 15% or so. 
My friend’s son was measuring over 9lbs at 36 weeks so they induced her at 38 weeks. Her son was *barely* 7lbs at birth.

They told me my son was going to be huge. 10+ lbs based off measuring. At 38 weeks they said he was well over 8 lbs close to 9. I went into labor at 38+4 and he was 7.4 lbs lol. My stomach shrunk a ton when my water broke. Don’t let them scare you! Measurements like that are typically not accurate.

My dr induced with me with my first because she said I am “narrow” and my baby was going to be too big… he was 6 lbs and 1oz and I labored for 16 hours and end up in with a c-section. To this day almost 13 years later I wish I would have listens to my body.

My big baby came on his own before we had a chance to induce early. He was 8lbs at 37 weeks. Not fully cooked but fully ready.

mine measured about the same at 34wks but came out at 8lbs 2oz. i was induced at 39wks 4d for separate reasons and don’t regret it. i loved my induction, i got to control how intense my contractions were and ask questions throughout my labor instead of sitting at home wondering if it’s time to go to the hospital lol
