Meeting with birth doctor

I’m meeting with my birth doctor on the 28th, I’ll be 37 weeks by then. (I’ve been seeing an NP for all prenatal appointments, and I have to travel 6 hours to give birth at another hospital.) So I will be staying out of town in a hotel until baby arrives. (Travel expenses are covered + hotel)

I’m leaving behind my 2 year old with his grandparents to have my baby, so do you think it’d be reasonable to ask to get induced at 38 weeks? I don’t want to end up staying out of town until I’m 40 weeks! I’m nervous to get denied about being induced, or being asked if I want a membrane sweep because I don’t want that lol. Has anyone asked to be induced at 38 weeks for personal reasons? I know every doctor is different but I just thought I’d ask if anyone has ever asked to be induced early!
