Spotting

I found out I was pregnant 2 days before my missed period. The very next day I woke up in crippling pain and went to the ER. I was told I had a ruptured ectopic and they did emergency surgery. Apparently while they were in there for the surgery they realized it wasn’t an ectopic but a hemorrhaging ovarian cyst on my right ovary. The cyst was cauterized and blood was cleared from my stomach. The doctor was unsure what would happen with my pregnancy at that point. Since then (that was 5 weeks ago) I have been spotting. Some days the spotting is light and brown but some days the spotting turns red. I do occasionally get cramping too. I have spoke to my doctor regarding all of this and was told if I start to fill a pad in an hour or have excruciating pain to go to the ER. That hasn’t happened. Has anyone else been through anything similar? Everytime I see blood I am scared to death. I go tomorrow for an ultrasound and hoping for the best.
