How long should I wait

Hey besties,

I’ve been dating this guy for two weeks and it’s my first ever relationship. The discussion of sex has come up in conversation and he said that he is ready and if he had the chance he would take it but he said that he would wait for me and whenever I’m comfortable. How long should I wait and how do I know that I’m ready??
