how often should baby eat?

my mom told me today that she’s never saw a baby eat so often. My LO is 6 months old and is still eating every 2 hours and has been this way since birth. she even night feeds every 2 hours. sometimes she cluster fed every 30 min in the beginning.. but this kind of discouraged me as i’m not doing something right and I expressed this to her and she didn’t mean any harm but she’s never breastfed so she doesn’t really know much. she’s the one pushed me to continue after I wanted to give up a lot of times. but I thought it was normal for her to still feed this way?

Breastfed babies are different from formula babies. Your baby is fine as long as she gaining and healthy. If she’s showing sign that she’s ready to try baby food then you can try that if you’re comfortable with doing so.

Absolutely normal. Don’t get yourself down. I let breastfeeding related stuff go in one ear and out the other from people that have never done it before.

Every baby is different. My oldest fed every 1-2 hours until she was 3 months. Then every 2-3 hours until she was close to a year old. My second ate less frequently.

My daughter nursed every two hours around the clock until 9 months. Some just do that. They eventually stop. It’s totally ok. 
My 4 month old son nurses every 1.5hr-3hrs during the day and 2-3 hrs at night.

Completely normal! My first ate every 2 hours (even throughout the night) until about 9 months. My second hardly eats. As long as your baby is healthy, gaining weight and happy I think that’s all that matters!

My BF baby was unfortunately nursing every 1-2 hours. Frustrating. So I weaned her off early

That’s often for a 6 month old but as long as your baby is healthy and her weight is increasing i see nothing wrong with it
