Period & Breastfeeding

Devon - 💙 3 Sweet Boys 💕 Baby Girl Feb 2021💕

My daughter is 5 months old and I have been EFB since birth. I got my first postpartum period at 4 months and my milk significantly dropped the week before my period to the point that I thought my milk was drying up and this was the end. After I surprisingly got my first period, my milk boomed back into production again and I have been successfully breastfeeding for three and a half weeks now. All of a sudden a week ago my milk started to drop again, and now 7 days later it's almost at nothing. I've been putting baby to the breast every time but she is hungry & crying so I feed her bottles of frozen breast milk and some formula before bedtime. Why does this happen?? This happened with my last son at the same time and it was the beginning of the end of my breastfeeding experience. It's so disheartening. I want to breastfeed my daughter until at least eight or nine months and I just don't understand why this is happening again!!! I'm so frustrated. I bought a pack of tampons a week ago waiting for it to happen so I could get on with it and get my milk supply back and here I am seven or eight days later just waiting for it to happen and my breasts are completely empty 😩

What can I do?? Am I just that fertile that my body is pushing through the breastfeeding hormones?? This is not what I want!! My husband had a vasectomy 3 months ago after we decided 4 babies was it for us, and I want to breastfeed my last baby, my first daughter, as long as I can!
