Pelvic pains: early labor?

I am 38w3d, first time pregnancy and I started feeling continuous pelvic pain today. It subsided after an hour and I have felt them again here and there. No mucus plug or water breakage has occurred. Could this be a early sign of labor coming?

Possibly! My water never broke and never lost my plug. I just started having hip pain, located more in the back of my hips. It was enough that I had to take warm baths to help….which I never do. Went in after a week of that pain and I was in preterm labor and 4cm! I just figured it was hip pain. It didn’t come at regular intervals, just random pain every now and then….but especially in the evening/night.

Pelvic pains are probably from baby starting to engage so not quite early labor but baby is probably getting ready.
