Two under two anyone?

Question

So, I have a 9 month old boy and expecting another boy in December. My 9 month old will be almost 15 months when this baby is born. Im just wondering what should I expect? Any tips? How to prepare? How to handle 2 under 2? Im a SAHM. Note, I have arthritis, so im already wiped of energy most of the time.. Thanks!

I have a 21mo and a 7 week old. 2 under 2 is absolutely brutal and chaotic. My suggestion would be to meal plan, start as much of a routine with your little now instead of waiting, take advantage of when both are sleeping, if you have guests come over make sure they see your oldest first before they go to the baby, be prepared for your oldest to feel like they are already 20 when you come home from the hospital (and its okay to cry over how big they will seem to you), try to preplan everything (grocery shopping, restaurants, etc), get a good diaper bag, and spend the rest of your pregnancy embracing all of the moments that your little has left as an only child. Youll blink and itll be gone. Be patient with yourself and be even more patient with your little. Itll be a hard adjustment for everyone but they will take it the hardest because they dont understand. Get a good mom friend that is in a similar situation to talk to about the struggles so you wont be alone.

Ok so I was TERRIFIED to have a second baby only 17 months apart, especially because I have such a strong connection to my first baby and didn’t want that to change. 
Well I just had my second baby four weeks ago and it was pretty tough I’d say the first two weeks. Don’t get me wrong it’s still hard and a lot of adjustments but I try not to worry about schedules, cleaning, and just things I had going on so perfectly before the baby. I’m basically starting from scratch. Personally I recommend just going with the flow because things will fall into place the way they should…

I’m right there with you. My son was 10 months old when I found out I was pregnant again. I definitely got worried and became upset with the fact I wouldn’t be giving my son the time I’d felt need to give him. But during the pregnancy I’ve become okay with how things are falling into place. His sister has about 4 weeks left till she’s here and I’m definitely trying to make the most of it with my son. It’ll be hard but everything will be okay. One step at a time momma is all I can say for now. You got this. 🤗

Go with the flow! Don’t stress over getting them on the same schedule. Everyone always said to get them on the same schedule and it really stressed me out. They eventually got on a similar schedule naturally. The first 6 months are pretty hard. But once baby starts sitting up and starts becoming more independent it gets so much easier. I have 2 girls 17 months apart and they are so cute together. You can tell they miss each other when they’re apart. Try and have as much 1 on 1 time as possible with your oldest. My oldest had lots of jealously problems in the beginning but that went away with time. I also got her a baby doll to practice with and some big sister books. Good luck mama!
