Is this too far to date someone?

I matched with a guy on dating app and we were talking and it’s really nice but he lives 37 miles away which is about an hour drive. I have a car. 
But my friends keep telling me that’s too far, but then again I work from home so I can live anywhere and I can work from their house etc during week if it really was working out.
I quite like him and want to meet him.

You can always first meet half way then take turns doing the hour trip and an hours not that bad

My last job was 50 miles away and that took about an hour 🤨 and I drove there every day morning and evening with no problems. It’s not even that far.

When my husband and I first met he lived about 32 miles or so away from me. Was not too far. 
If you really like him then driving more than 5 or 10 minutes is worth it. You guys can meet up halfway on days you don't feel like driving the whole way.

I met my bf on bumble and he lived 2 hours away and we made it work for several months. He just moved an hour closer and it’s lots better. It’s seemed to work this for and it’s been over a year since I started that commute and 9 months dating almost.

Long distance relationships only work when both parties are making the effort, when it’s only you, it becomes draining and eventually you no longer want to make that effort, my brother and his wife were long distance, 8 Hour Dr. each, so they would meet halfway, they met on a job assignment in New York, my brother was supposed to be the tour guide, but the only one who showed up with her and it ended up being the first day, they would meet halfway, at least once a month, and when a position opened up in New York, she moved to New York, and when his job assignment was done years later, they moved to her state. Relationships Only work when both people make the effort, when it’s only one person making the effort it becomes draining, effort and consistency are important in a relationship, and if they’re not making the effort, then you’re just chasing after him and he’s doing the minimal until you get tired of it. Unfortunately people don’t break up anymore, one person gets tired of the bullshit and wants out. Or they ghost you. In the beginning they make the effort, everything‘s great, and then they get lazy things get comfortable, and you end up chasing after them. Talk to him. Tell him look we are an hour apart, it’s one thing if one person relocates like you said, but you shouldn’t be the only one making the effort and the sacrifices in relationship remember that. It’s up to you if you want to pursue this or not, but have a long talk with him before you put all your eggs in one basket. good luck either way. ￼
