Is it safe for a baby to sleep/live in a completely finished basement??

I am living with my mom right now and she has a basement with a bathroom, 2 bedrooms, and a living room. I have a 4 week old baby and I’m wondering if you think it’s safe to have her down there? It can be quite cold but I have a space heater. I know an unfinished basement can be bad for health but what are your opinions on this?

I sounds like a perfectly fine place to have baby. Only suggestion I’d make is an air purifier if it’s newly finished or even if not. Being underground there’s probably a lot of dust.

I think it’s fine, but is it an underground basement? Is there a door to get out in case of fire? That’s the only concern I would have.

That’s totally fine as long as there are big enough windows or preferably a door to exit in case of a fire. Where I’m from loads of people (and young families) live in basement apartments. 
Make sure baby is dressed appropriately if it’s chilly, but as a rule, if you’re comfortable they’re comfortable with one extra layer.

If you’re in an area with high radon levels I would get your basement checked for that before having anyone have their bedroom down there. 
Make sure there are correct egress points for safety (window well with ladder), etc. you do not want to have to go rescue a baby in a basement and then have to travel through the house to get out in the event of a fire or CO leak.

Is there a window down there or more than one window? Are there two points of egress to escape in an emergency?

Should be fine! Just be aware off the temp! You can get a nanny cam that says the temp & will warn you when it’s too cold or too hot for baby ❤️

Yeah. My SO and I live with my father we live in the finished basement 2bedrooms 1 bathroom and a half kitchen. Also gets chilly down here but space heater and we have free roam to upstairs. I’m super close with my dad.
