Does shaving make your hair come back darker and thicker?

I’ve heard this back and forth myth and I want an answer already! I’m very conflicted!!

No, the reason they look that way is because the hair is not a single size and shape all the way through. It gets thinner and finer towards the tip of it. So, the act of shaving you just remove the fine ends of the hair and leave the rest which is still under the skin. When that grows out, it's got a flat end to it rather than the natural thinning and finer tip so it LOOKS thicker and darker than it was before. If you let it grow out a few weeks, the old hair will fall out and you will get a new hair in it's place with the 'original' look of your hair. I hope that made sense and helped

nope! it just seems like that because you’re basically cutting off the hair at the thickest part, and it grows back from there. i would recommend waxing though, because it thins your hair over time! i’ve also heard that it slows down the growth, but i’m not sure if that’s true of if it just seems that way because the hair is thinner.
