Has anyone had their baby in a pool yet?

If so, at what age and do you remember the temperature of the pool?

We did at three months. Not sure the temp of the pool but it was in AZ and super hot outside. We only let her stay in for a few minutes to cool off and just looked out for any signs she was getting too cold. Then changed her into dry clothes as soon as she got out.

My daughter was around 10 weeks when we took her swimming in my in-laws pool. The water was between 82-87 degrees every time we took her swimming (we did it 3 different days) and it was over 100 degrees outside. I asked for permission from my pediatrician and she said it was perfectly fine as long as she stayed completely covered in UV clothes. She also wanted to know if the pool was private vs public since public pools tend to use way more chemicals which can be too harsh for newborns.

I was told by my daughter’s pediatrician to wait until month 6 to both put sunscreen on her skin and take her in pools. Babies can’t regulate their own temperature. I’m sure warm private pools are fine with uv clothes on but I plan to wait. I’ve seen warming vests for babies, too!
