Mobile games win money + govt benefits

Okay, I know that a free game giving out free money is like 99% chance a scam. I’m not the kind of person that buys into that. I never really believed that “free money” exists.

(Kind of long question sorry please don’t give up on me yet)

That being said, I downloaded a solitaire game (specifically Solitaire by BigTime or WINR whichever I’m not sure) because I love to play solitaire. It requested no money or personal info, except my email which I always provide my junk mail address for games and companies and stuff. The game has a drawing every few days for a bit of money. I never expected to win anything, seeing as things like that just don’t happen to me and I barely trust that the whole thing is real anyways.

I’ve done as much research as I can think of, this seems legit… but that opens another issue.

I’m receiving government benefits because I have low income and high rent. I’ve been unemployed and am a new parent. My SO is on a diet (doctor’s orders) which doesn’t exactly comprise of the cheapest food on the shelves, and we can’t even really afford that.

The amount that I would receive if I accept it and it’s real would shoot me out of the income limits for the benefits I have and I can’t afford to lose those over a game I expected nothing from except a little solitaire. On the other hand, that would seriously help me pay back some debts to family and we might be able to afford rent for another month or two.

Does anyone know if the game winnings would count as income, and if it would count against me in terms of receiving benefits? As I said before I paid for nothing, I only played the game and expected nothing back… pls help!!
