Progesterone shots or no?
My OB says the literature is no longer conclusive as to whether the progesterone injections actually work, and that it’s my choice but that their practice no longer “strongly recommends” them.
I’m probably not a candidate for cerclage because in my first pregnancy my cervix was absolutely fine until suddenly it wasn’t at 26 weeks, and the cutoff is 24. They’re going to measure my cervix every two weeks starting at 16 weeks, so we’ll see.
I had my son at 31 weeks, after being on strict hospital bed rest due to my short cervix since 27 weeks. I was on progesterone suppositories as well and they seemed to be effective - I stopped dilating and got a little thickness back in my cervix. Would have stayed pregnant longer but a staph infection got into my placenta and put me right into labor 💔
Just trying to weigh the option for the injections or not. If you’re taking them, what helped you make that choice? And vice versa if you’re not?
