We will call the woman in this story Ashley and the guy in this story John. When Ashley was 21 and John was 23, they started seeing each other. It started out light hearted and fun, lots of partying, some irresponsibility. Although Ashley was on birth control, she got pregnant. Both were not ready for this, but decided to keep the baby and settle down and make the best of an unplanned situation. They even chose a name for their baby, which was a unique first name along with Ashley's middle name which was also her mother middle name.. Ashley started noticing John had a hidden side to him, narcissism and lies. Ashley ended up having a miscarriage and they went their separate ways but still lived in the same small town.

A couple years later John got another woman pregnant, which was totally okay. However, when the baby was born they named it the same exact first and middle name as Ashley and John were going to name theirs that passed.

Ashley cannot imagine his current girlfriend knows. It doesn't bother Ashley they have a baby...just finds it really weird about the name.
