3 days late

Not sure if to test yet or not as period was due on the 5th December but I took a early test on the 2nd and it was negative with my first I only got a positive reading when I was 4 weeks he's 16 months now and took almost 2 years to fall pregnant with him my cycle was all over the place I took the repo after he was born for the 3 months but i was due the next repo December of last year so I should have been out of system since then been trying since January any advise to test now or wait later ?
