So when I had my son, I went to the hospital on Friday July 16, 2021 morning at 4:30am. I was in early labor. My contractions were all over the place. When I went in, I was 1cm dilated. I didn’t need any pain medication until about 8:30am when I went into active labor, I was 7cm dilated. I was given fentanyl for the pain. Only 3 doses. My last dose was at 2:30pm. That’s when they gave me the epidural. I was still only at 7cm. At about 6pm they broke my water. No change in my dilation. They gave me patossin at 9pm to help my dilation. By 10:30pm I was 9 1/2cm dilated and then at 11:30pm I was told I needed to start pushing. We waited for my boyfriend (the father) to show up. So in reality I didn’t start pushing until about 11:45pm. The midwife told me I needed to push 3 times per contraction and so I did. 2 contractions and 6 pushes later, my son was born at 11:56pm Friday July 16th, 2021.
