Newborn hair to remove?

Hey there, my LO was born with a full head of hair which keeps growing lol. Anyone had this with their LO and shaved their head after a certain age? My LO is almost 6 weeks

I would hold off on shaving it, he may end up losing it. My LO was born with a full head of hair and around 8 weeks it all fell out except for a small band that went ear to ear. I ended up shaving it so it would grow in evenly and it looks much better now. It’s personal preference if you want to shave it or not but you might want to give it more time to see if there’s any changes.

We shaved our daughters head around 3 months, she didn’t have much to start off with bc she lost a lot by that point. She did great with it, get ready for a completely different looking baby though. 😆

There’s no point in shaving that beautiful head of hair. It won’t do anything at all. Except your baby will be bald and the hair will just grow back in. My son had a full head of beautiful hair. I just left it be and he still has a gorgeous head of hair he’s 3.5 yo. I’m a hair stylist btw.

with my first, i was always told to cut their hair from a cultural standpoint. 
my munchkin also had a head full of hair from birth. it gets really hot where we’re from and for that reason only i cut his hair when he was 1. 
he’s now going on 2 in a month and his hair is taking forever to grow ha i lol but it’s more thick and pronounced. if i could go back maybe i wouldn’t have cut it and just braided it or put it in a bun but that’s because i just love him with long curls! it’s taboo in my culture to do any of those 2 things but i honestly am living freely with my child until he decides what he prefers!

My son was born with hair just like this, my husband is Indian and his family bothered us to shave baby’s head so often. We never did and our son has gorgeous thick hair that all grew back at 5 months after it fell out at 3-4 months. 
It’s an old wives tale, hair thickness and texture is all down to genetics. You do whatever you feel is best for your baby!

My brother in law is from Bangladesh and they say it’s a common thing to shave baby’s hair as it helps grow back thicker. Not sure if it works but it’s what they do so I don’t question it. Bye your baby has lovely hair
