Birthplans anyone?

I’m only 23 weeks but I have started a rough draft of my birth plan because It’s helping get over my fear of labor and delivery. What do you think of what I have so far? Should I include more detail or less? Is some of this too much to ask for?

I didn’t have a birth plan for my first birth and probably won’t again for this one. If I have too many things that I’m worried about going perfectly then I get too stressed. I’m normally a planner but it was very calming going into my birth just winging it. 😆 They asked me most of this stuff as it became relevant in the moment so it is nice that you’ve thought about all this in advance. I don’t think anything on your list is too much to ask for. 🙂

Personally won’t be doing one. I personally think birth is about listening to my body and managing babies safety throughout. 
Most of what you’ve listed is common sense and would be done anyway. 
Think about how having a strict plan may disrupt the normal process and your ability to focus and relax. How disappointed you may be if something isn’t done how you planned.

This is great mama! Does your hospital allow for water birth? Some only allow to labor in water up to a certain point so I'd get clear on what you'd hospital offers first. I've had 2 water births so far. Also, specify how long you want to delay cord clamping.

Yup, pretty much the same as my last 2 births though. 😅 wake up, deny I'm in labor for as long as I can, husband tells me I'm in labor and starts tub of hot water, I freak out, get down to business, and stay calm until baby arrives. Birth placenta, take tinctures if needed for blood loss or slow placenta, cut cord, relax with baby. Hoping I at least remember to have diapers in the house this time when baby is born 😂 we forgot them last time as baby was 3 weeks early and born in 2.5 hours from my waking up, 1.5 hours of realizing I was in labor.

As a fellow natural birther, I have found it really important to learn more about emergency situations so I can consent to treatments. My first birth was natural but there were weird complications that I wasn’t prepared for because the natural birth world is so idealistic and optimistic.
