Tw: PLEASE STOP DRIVING WHEN DRUNK

I am 21 and almost lost a life to a drunken, middle aged driver two days ago.

I was going back home. My friend was driving, I was in the back seat. There were 2 more people with us. Neither of us drunk. We genuinly drinked only water, expect from our driver who drunk Coca Cola. All with seatbelt on. We were driving 50. It was 2am. As we were passing the 2 lane bridge, the truck in opposite direction hit us. Our car turned around 3 times, I can still hear my best friend and the other friend in Front seat screaming their lungs out. As the car stopped, it started to smoke and my best friend started to yell "get out!". My seatbelt Was locked. I was hitting it till i managed to open it. I didn't see anyone. I lost my glasses too. I could only hear my bestie scream as we run. He grabbed me when we were far enough and started to hug me, yelling at me asking if I am fine, crying, saying we are alive. Moments later i heared our driver friend scream out. It was the scariest thing ive heared but I was relieved i even heared that he was alive. His door was crushed. We went back to pull him out. My friend in back seat took some time to come to concious. We almost fell of the bridge. I genuinly thought i was dead. Even when my best friend was hugging me I thought we both died. I remember thinking we need to call police and ambulance but I couldn't remember how to use my phone. We all went away from the car and sat on the street as we waited police and ambulance.

The drunken guy from the truck got a few scratches on his car and one scratch on Arm. Our driver ended up with a broken rib and Arm, countless scratches. My friend had bleeding head. My best friend almost lost his legs and got hit on the chest. I injured my pelvis and back. We've been told we will need at least a month to physically recover.

That night me and my best friend slept in bed together. We don't dare to get in another car. Our driver friend is falling in Depression, saying he almost killed us, even though the police told us that we are alive thanks to him as he pulled the break leaver and held the wheel.

This guy just scared 4 people for life. He said he usually doesn't drink, he just bought a house and got a new job so he wanted to celebrate. 4 people could've died because of his stupid decision. Please don't be that guy to someone else. Don't drink and drive.
