Baby Blanket

So I want to make a baby blanket. Well 2 actually one for a girl and one for a boy. I'm currently only 3 weeks 5 days but I need something to keep my mind from wondering until my first appointment in January. Do you ladies think it's to early or is it okay to just go ahead and do it.
