I’m two weeks into my active pills with my birth control and have had consistent black blood/black discharge with short periods of regular-looking blood. Not enough to fill a pad, but enough to change panty liners a couple times a day. This has never happened to me before, I have not missed or skipped a pill, and my periods have been regular since starting the pill several months ago. I have no other side effects or regular symptoms I may have with a period. I feel completely normal, as if nothing is going on health-wise.

My doctor is advising me to take a pregnancy test, but I have never heard of someone with a pregnancy where they are bleeding consistently for 1 week+ now?
