Is this milk or colostrum???

I’m 38 weeks been hand expressing and this is what has come out, it’s really runny in consistency water like and becomes sticky after a while. 
Having my first baby how often should I express

It's colostrum. You cannot produce milk until the placenta has detached.

It can be good to collect a bit of expressed colostrum in case baby can’t feed straight away or there are other complications. As long as you collect it after 37 weeks and store correctly it is ok.

So idk if I’m reading this wrong but you really don’t want to pump milk until after you’ve delivered baby. Pumping/expressing milk releases hormones that can cause early labor. Just saying that so you’re aware, not shaming at all.

Like others have said it's colostrum. You don't start producing milk until a few days after you have baby.

Colostrum.  I express once a day right now but I don’t have colostrum yet, it’s still mature milk (I’m still breastfeeding my almost 2 year old).  I plan to do it 3 times a day as soon as I have colostrum.
