How do you raise a baby girl?

This is my first child and I’m afraid I will not do a good job as a mom 😩

This question made me smile. I was right where you’re at, wondering the same thing a few years ago while waiting for my daughter to come along. Scared to death because I have an awful relationship with my mother…so scared it would be the same way. I now see that my mother being a narcissistic, self-centered, selfish human being and terrible mother (and grandmother) has zero to do with the kind of mother I am. My kids come first to both my husband and I. Not to her of course (she comes first, ha) but that is her loss. I honestly didn’t think I’d figure this mom thing out because I had such a terrible ‘teacher’ but I think I’m kind of crushing it 🤪 you will too because guess what?! Worrying that you won’t do something right or ‘be enough’ is exactly what is going to make you an INCREDIBLE mom. Good luck & you got this! 🍀

Don't worry, it's going to come naturally when she's here. Just give her love. It's the toddler years when kids learn to back talk before it gets rough. My 2 year old is so sassy every day, but I can't help but laugh at what she says when she's talking back. Most of it you'll learn as you go anyway. Babies and infants just want cuddles and food. My daughter loved to coo at me when I'd talk to her, and I never would baby talk, she learned to speak really easily because I didnt confuse her by suddenly switching how I talked. Baby talk can lead to speech impediments, not that it's the worst thing ever, but it would be something else to work on later on. Anyway, even with all the advice anyone could list here, most of it may not apply to you later on. Just enjoy your pregnancy and always take it one day at a time.

I’m the mum of a 1 year old girl & also a primary school teacher. I’ve always found girls easier to teach. They’re usually more mature & emotionally aware.

The same way you'd raise a boy, or any child:) one day at a time, parenting grows, you don't have to be an expert, your child will tach you as much as you teach them ❤
