When did you let husband take baby out for the first time without you?

My little girl is 3.5 months and EBF. I’ve been thinking it would be good for hubby to take baby girl out by himself maybe to see his parents or something so I can get a little break and some stuff done around the house. He is the best dad! But for some reason I have this sad feeling about letting her go without me. Anyone else feel this way? I know I need the break for my sanity and it would only be like half a day but still I’m feeling so weird about it.

It just isnt easy, I totally get it, its part of your attachment instincts to not let the baby go without you. Totally normal. But if you trust him, baby will be fine. Momma might not be fine though lol but it takes practice.

Within the first month. It's hard emotionally but also not my place to "let" him. It's his daughter too. Having those couples hours to myself were so healing.

Honestly cannot remember with my first two. I'd let him take baby out whenever he wanted, but he probably wouldn't until baby no longer needed breastfeeding. That kind of requires my presence, and often lol. I trust my hubby absolutely with the care of my children. He's a great father.

2.5 years later and I still feel this way sometimes. 🤦‍♀️😅 It's not easy the first time, but let him do it and show you how well he can do taking her out on his own. It will be good for both of them and you! The best thing is to just have him send you pictures and videos here and there while he's out. And honestly, plan on him being out for however long, but don't be afraid to ask him to come home earlier if you miss her too much. I did that a few times even when it was only gonna be a few hours. But the more you let him take her out the easier it gets and the more their bond will grow. I absolutely love seeing the bond my husband and daughter have,; makes me love him that much more. 🥰

Personally I wouldn’t do it that early for half a day, largely because baby is EBF (we do that here and I’m not in love with the pump). Maybe something shorter? An hour away or two depending on how long baby goes between feeds? I would start there if you’re feeling the need for a break. But for me, even just Daddy taking baby to play in the other room/other floor of the house and letting me be alone and get things done is plenty
