Anyone told they were going to have a huge baby?

At 33 weeks I was told baby is 7 pounds 7 oz.

I do have GD, but it is diet controlled and insulin at night for fasting. The doctor is saying it’s not the GD now, and has said baby was just destined to be a big baby. She is proportionate all over, not just her belly which the High risk doctor says usually with GD it’s big belly, and the rest smaller.

( my husband is 6’2) baby also is measuring to have a big head ( again like husband) and long legs, so I’m guessing tall like dad. I was over 8 when born, hubby was over 9, our mothers have had bigger babies with all children. So it’s a mix of genetics and GD. Also I am not big so girl is heavy right now!!

I’m at the point where we are now talking about delivery. This is my first birth btw. She will be coming at 38 weeks but now we are looking at the mode of delivery. Either induce or c section. The doctor doesn’t want to really make any decision yet just because it’s still early, but she said to prepare for both. She also said there’s a good chance if I try vaginally it’ll end up emergency c section. And to calm my anxiety she’s said I should book a c section now just so I’m mentally prepared that could happen and I can cancel it at any time.

My questions is ive heard SO many girls say they have been told baby was going to be huge and the US ended up being wrong. I have to make this decision on mode of delivery, around 36-37 weeks. I’m really nervous. Again this is my first. I just want to do what’s safe for both of us!
