How come periods start dates change?

I notice at the beginning of the year I was starting on the 13th and then around April I started to start around thr 8th. then in June I started on the 2nd. then in July is was the 28th. and now nothing yet. But what does it mean for it to change so much during the year?

1. We’re not robots so we don’t work exactly on schedule 
2. There are different numbers of days in each month. The only way your period could come on the same day every month is if it adjusted to compensate for different month lengths and ovaries can’t read calendars. 
In short, it doesn’t mean anything and is completely normal.

Well, if you have a 28 day cycle and are regular there are 30/31 days in most months, so your cycle will move from month to month. I'm very irregular and skip months at a time, so I never know when to expect mine.
