I'm a little confused where I stand with him

We've gone on at least 5 dates.

▪︎ Says he wants to take things slow

▪︎ When I asked him what slow meant, he said he didn't know

▪︎ He's only dating me (He only dates 1 person at a time)

▪︎ Works 2 jobs and goes to school

▪︎ Doesn't initiate texting, it's mostly me but when I text he responds quickly

▪︎ We enjoy our time together and it's fun but when we're apart I hardly hear from him

▪︎ When we are on our dates the emotional connection is there but he hasn't tried holding my hand or kissing me yet

▪︎ My friend asked him if he's seeing anyone and he mentioned seeing me. She then told him that I liked him and he couldn't believe that I liked him back. He thought, 'Why me?' in the sense that he thinks I'm up there compared to him

I'm confused sometimes by him. Not sure if he is just so focused on school/work to the point where he doesn't have the capacity to text me to say hi, or if he's not that into me. I noticed he would try and post stuff on instagram that I like to get me to react to it, but I'm starting to get weary of initiating and want him to initiate. So because of that, I haven't texted him or initiated contact on social media.
