Water leaking but no contractions?

Has anyone experienced this? I’m 40 weeks+1 FTM and I woke up this morning to my water leaking on the floor. It was definitely water as it was odorless and clear. It stopped after standing up, I ate breakfast took another nap and when I got back up again it leaked again then stopped after standing up. Has this happened to anyone in labor? I haven’t started feeling real contractions yet just some light crampiness. I talked to my midwife and she said to keep an eye out if it leaks anymore in the next 6 hours to see if contractions ramp up. If it is my water I think they say I should be in labor within the next 24-48 hours to avoid infection. If not I might have to be induced has this happened to anyone?

Yes it happened to me. I had a small leak one morning but then nothing else came out so my bag must have resealed. I gave birth three days later

Yup and you need to be induced if labor doesn’t start on its own to avoid serious complications.
Happened to me. I had what I thought was a water leak. But after the initial amount it only came in small amounts. It was my first pregnancy so I assumed since labor didn’t start on its own by the next day that maybe it wasn’t actually my water. Fastforward 4 days (and still a week before my due date) and I wake up feeling like death, my entire body is painful to the touch. Still being a first timer I thought maybe that’s just what happens this close to your due date. By that night out of nowhere I broke out in chills so bad I couldn’t even talk through them. My husband found me in the bathroom and I couldn’t speak, he told me I was turning blue , had a 102 fever, and I took some Tylenol and he basically threw me in the car to go to the hospital. Long story short it was my water, which since I did not go into labor lead to an infection in my placenta, which spread to my uterus, and then to my blood stream. I was being induced within 3 hours of arriving. Despite feeling awful I had a smooth delivery but my baby had to go to the NICU for precautionary antibiotics. I never got to do the initial skin to skin and we didn’t even have a moment alone with him for days and having him in the NICU on top of my own issues was sooo emotionally draining. I was on intense IV antibiotics and started having cardiac issues and had to be in monitors. It ended up being a 5 day hospital stay as even after my baby was discharged I wasn’t.

If your water had broken you need to be seen for sure. Sound like it has broken and when you stand baby is probably blocking the leak from coming out. Definitely do NOT wait to let them.know your water broke! It can go bad quickly!
