Best that I can?

Question

If you ask your so also the father of your child how he feels about your parenting with your child and he replies “You’re doing the best that you can” how would you take that?

I think it would really depend on his tone of voice tbh. That would change everything for how I took it.

All parents do is their best. No one is fantastic. Not you. Not me. Not your granny! We just do our best. 
Now… if he said it in a negative tone of voice or was an ass about it we’d have words. Otherwise his answer seems straight forward and the same I use all the time. My girl friend cried once to me when she had her first, and I said “you’re doing your best” and she really was. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished.

I think all parents do or try their best they can for the most part you’ll always have exceptions to that but none of us are perfect parents as much as we’d love to be. So I wouldn’t take it in a negative way. ♥️
