My birth story
Since I've had a few days to process being a new mom, I would like to share my story.
August 2nd, felt bleh and blood pressure was 124/72. Pretty good right?
August 3rd, its my birthday! I've told little miss she had to stay in until it wasn't my birthday. I go to my doctors appointment at 37+5 and my blood pressure was 150/79 when less than 12 hours before it was just fine. There was some protein in my blood and I had been seeing black spots so doc sent me to the hospital for monitoring and a mag drip. The mag drip almost killed me, I was about to seize out.
August 4th, got confirmed that I had pre-eclampsia and was spilling a ton of protein in my urine so they inserted cyotec to start inducement at 6:30 am. Doc came by and broke my water at 8:30 and I had progressed to a 4 so they didn't see a need for another round of cyotec. By 9:30 I was having back labor extremely bad. Epidural at 10, pitocin drip started at 10:30. I told my child's father to get to the hospital cause my mom had been staying with me. I got a tiny amount of rest while he was there and around 12:30 he left out to get some food mom had brought for him because I was just at a 6. He came back around 1:10 and I was complete. Doc came in around 1:20 and we started pushing and little miss came out at 1:41 pm. I tore really bad, ripped through my urethra and got around 34 stitches. We stayed in the hospital 2 more days and got released.
My story is please don't play about your blood pressure. At my 36 week appointment I was not spilling protein. That Sunday before I wasn't spilling protein because I was in labor and delivery for early labor. I was spilling ketones, which is an early sign of pre-eclampsia. I was fine the next day, until I wasn't. It happens so fast
