so im a full time barber and currently in a long distance relationship (been dating for almost 3years)

in 2019 I was working at a Barbershop A and at the time while I was working my boyfriend would hang out around the shop, help clean nd this nd tht nd the owner was okay with it nd nothing crazy happened.

by November 2019 there was some issues nd I ended up leaving , the owner was upset nd overall thought my boyfriend influenced me to get up nd leave .

which was beyond the case but I can see how it looks tht way.

during 2020 nd up til now I was at Barbershop B nd overall since covid I haven't been able to see my boyfriend .

there was plenty of drama nd toxic in environment in this place so I left.

Now I'm back at Barbershop A again nd was rehired on 1 condition that my boyfriend wasn't welcomed here.

Reason being of he's not an employee, covid nd overall owner doesn't think it looks good on me nd the shop that I have my boyfriend just hanging around.

I brought it up to my boyfriend since I told him I got another job but was hired on one condition.I told my boyfriend in the nicest way possible that I believe I should separate my personal life nd business and I think its a healthy boundary because I can't always have him with me at work no matter how much I'd want to.

He was a bit hurt by it but understood where I was coming from.. but overall I feel like maybe it was wrong of me to take the job again?

What would you have done ?

Before covid , my boyfriend was coming to see me every 2months nd staying for 1 month at a time.

Does it seem harsh that I setting down everything in this matter?

I'm starting work on Wednesday nd I still have 1 month til my boyfriend comes nd visits me .

I know that in a regular scenario, relationships don't get in the way of your job, I think I messed up with getting him used to being me literally everywhere all the time when he visits .

Any advice is welcomed , but lol I rarely set boundaries since we just bout never have issues but ah idk bout this now 😭
