I’m going to be traveling soon and need a way to get around by myself. My mom told me to take an Uber whenever I have to go somewhere and told me it’s safer than taking a bus or other transportation, Bre I’m too young to rent a car, it says you have to be 21+

No, nothing like that is ever 100% guaranteed. Unlikely you will have any issue but there’s always a chance. Just be aware and use your best judgement. I carry mace on my keychain too when I’m out.

I don’t think it’s 100% safe because what form of transportation is? But Uber is pretty dang safe. They have to pass a background check and they can’t pick you up without everything being documented. You also have the option to share your ride information with a 3rd party, like your mom, so she can track when and where you are dropped off & follow up to make sure you made it. I’ve ubered hundreds of times and have no hesitations about doing it again. I’ve done it alone plenty of times. You’ll be okay!

I’ve heard stories of women being in weird/sketchy situations with Uber drivers. 
Personally I almost think a bus would be safer but idk. Everything has a level of danger really

when i lived in FL i had to use ubers but i ALWAYS made sure my location was on and my friend would call me and stay on the phone til i got to my destination just for precaution 🤷🏻‍♀️ i wouldn’t take any risks

you can rent a car, you'll just be charged a young driver fee. i haven't had any bad experiences with uber, but that doesn't mean it's completely safe. you should always practice due diligence with safety and be aware of your surroundings. the good thing with uber is you can share your trip location with someone so they can make sure you get there safely.
