How Did You Handle Breastfeeding When Your LO Grew Teeth?

My LO is 8 months and just started growing his first two teeth!! He is breastfed + solids.

It didn’t bother me so I just continued. If they bit then I’d say “ouch! No biting” and set them down for a couple minutes then start again and just kept doing that and shortly they learned not to bite.

My boy had 4 teeth by 4 months, 6 by 6 months, and like 14 by one year. He’s way ahead, this little over achiever! 😂 he bit me a few times at first and I would stop the session, put him down and say “no, that hurts mama”. If he actually needed to nurse I’d give him a minute then try again and repeat this process if he bit. If he didn’t need to nurse (he just wanted to) I’d try to get him interested in something else because he definitely but more if he was comfort nursing! This stopped quickly and he hasn’t but me since.

I yelled at mine the first time or two they bit and then it never happened again. 🤷🏻‍♀️ nursed both til they were 1

So we had a biting problem at first. It hurt like a motheeeeer.
I learned to control my reaction, and started taking her off every time she did it. I would say "biting hurts mommy, we can't eat if you bite." She got the message eventually that biting equals no breast, and we never had a problem after that.

I noticed no difference. She bit me once in the middle of the night and it scared the shit out of me. I screamed, terrified her and she never bit me again. obviously wasn’t how I wouldn’t have wanted the situation to go and I felt horrible after, but it worked 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s sore for me for maybe two weeks.  Much easier to continue to breastfeed than try to pump while having a baby on the move

It didn’t happen too often but everytime she did bite me, it did hurt pretty bad but the pain only lasted a couple seconds.

If he but me, I pulled away, said ow, and he knew he was done for then. He quickly learned to stop biting. It only ever happened like twice 🤷🏻‍♀️
