When is the best time to take an OPK?

I'm new at this and was just wondering what works best for yall.

I take one in the morning starting around day 10 and then within the few days I may ovulate (my cycle fluctuates in length) I take one in the afternoon too because with a 12 hr window it could be easy to miss!  I use the cheap ones from the dollar store so wasting them doesn't hurt my wallet so much and I can be crazy and obsessive haha
