After a breakup or status change, how long do you wait to change your relationship status on Facebook?

I did it as soon as it happens and then remove the post so ppl wouldn’t see it and annoy me by asking what happened

Just thinking back to when I was a teenager and young adult, it would have changed faster than traffic lights 😂
I personally don't like to update anything on SM unless it's something I don't mind talking about to everyone. SO many people got butt hurt with me when I would update my cancer journey and not tell them directly or divulge every detail about it. Mind you, these people never once talked to me or were even close to me in any way my whole life, we just happen to come from the same family tree. After those first few months I was told I had weeks to live and adopted a "who gives a shit" attitude about certain things so I stopped caring about telling everyone everything. It saved me much headaches and energy. Now I don't say shit to anyone because those that need to know, already do because they're close to me.

Right away. But before my husband I stopped changing my status. Felt like a jinx. As soon as it said “In a relationship..” it would be over soon after and was so embarrassing to then change, again
