Have you gone through a dry spell with your partner?

Due to a lot of stress and anxiety surrounding the recent loss of my dog, a car accident and my abortion a few months ago, my sex life and drive has been impacted. My partner is fairly patient and understanding and hasn’t pressured me into anything but I’m a bit worried I’m taking “too long” to recover. Anyone else go through something similar?

Had a dry spell with my partner when I was trying to recover from a traumatic encounter. I didn't desire sex sometimes so we'd be intimate by cuddling instead. Dry spell lasted about 5 months I'd say, and with therapy we're back to normal now.

Absolutely. Really, anyone that’s going to be together for the rest of their lives is going to experience it at some point. Depression, stress, grieving periods, it all tends to impact our sex drive.

My boyfriend goes through dry spells a lot and even is going through one currently. It’s a lot of patience but sex doesn’t make an entire relationship. We found other ways to enjoy each other’s company than just sex

From the second trimester with my pregnancy with my daughter until she was 4 months old we did not have sex, 11 months, but he was very understanding the whole time. That was our longest dry spell but I have had two pregnancies since and both times we had dry spells while I was pregnant and a bit after I lost both pregnancies.

During pregnancy I think is the only time we do. Sometimes you simply can’t do it no matter how hard you try.
