Hpv Virus and the pill

So back in February I had my smear and it came back that I had hpv but no cell changes. Has anyone had this result before and been on the pill? Everywhere on the internet is saying that it can increase your risk of cervical cancer which is terrifying as I’ve had abnormal cells in the past which led to a colposcopy end result was fine but I’m so worried now I’m not too sure what to do. I’ve only recently gone back on the pill after a 8 month break from it.
