Anyone ever use monistat external cream on toddler?

So my 18 m old they think has a yeast infection so I called nurse line and they had a dr look at pictures and she thought yeast infection and told me to get monistat and use external 2% crwam on rhe outside of vagina for a week. Have u ever had to do this to your toddler ? I had a bad reaction the one time I’ve ever had a yeast infection to monistat and it burned so bad when I used it so I ended up having to use a pill to get rid of the infection . I just hope it doesn’t hurt her and rhat it’s okay.
